Time: 1-3 p.m.

Location: The Long Time at 5707 N. Dunlap Rd. Austin, TX 78725

IS THIS FOR ME?

This community workshop is great for individuals and families and no previous experience growing mushrooms is necessary. Kids under 12 are free and must be accompanied by an adult. You will walk away with the knowledge of:

  1. Basic mycology terms and understanding of types of fungi as it relates to plants.

  2. How to use recycled blocks and grow mushrooms in the garden alongside your vegetables and perennials

  3. How to use blocks and grow mushrooms in containers

ABOUT THE VENUE

The Long Time is far east Austin’s most unique event space. Just 12 miles from Austin and nestled on a country road among small family farms and ranchitos, the The Long Time is a 5 acre playground for your imagination.

The Long Time facility’s stand-out feature is its custom sandlot baseball field – the home field of The Texas Playboys Baseball Club. The Playboys host opposing teams from near and far on the second Saturday of the month, March through October, in what we call “Sandlot Service” – a family-friendly community event with baseball, music, and plenty of good vibes.
