SporeCorps is our indoor cultivation and community lab program — a hands-on space for curious minds to explore the science, art, and discipline of growing fungi. SporeCorps teaches low-tech and high-tech methods in a supportive, futuristic, DIY-lab environment.
We have community labs in Austin and San Antonio and you can take our three part- online class and get certified in mushroom cultivation. Mission patch included. Members get lot’s of perks including access to use the lab so become a supporting member today!
Our mission is to empower people with the skills to cultivate fungi safely, responsibly, and sustainably at home. Think of us as a friendly little resistance: teaching the skills, sharing the knowledge, growing the future — one Petri dish at a time.
In-Person Events:
7/11 • San Antonio: Join us at the Botanical Garden to learn how to grow culinary and specialty mushrooms.
8/3 • East Austin: Join us in-person on Mushroom Monday at Stargazer Cocktails & Coffee to learn how to grow culinary and specialty mushrooms. Go home with the knowledge and kit to get started! Mushroom cocktails, mocktails, vendors & more.
8/27 • East Austin: Join us in-person at the Buzzmill Coffee to learn how to grow culinary and specialty mushrooms. Everyone goes home with a mushroom patch from the lumber society.
Online Courses
Anytime • Mushroom Cultivation 3-part Course: Get certified in mushroom Cultivation and earn a sparkly SporeCorps patch. Alumni also get access to the community lab. Take the course anytime.
Anytime • Intro to Mycoremediation : Learn how we can work with fungi to remove contamination from the environment. From plastics to heavy metals, fungi may hold the key towards a healthy future!
9/8 • LIVE STREAM: Clone Wars: Learn from members at their home labs on how to do sterile work in real time—agar work, cloning. 2nd Wednesdays each month
