Return & Cancellation Policy

Our Commitment

At Central Texas Mycological Society, we are dedicated to providing enriching educational experiences about the fascinating world of fungi. As a non-profit, the revenue from our events and merchandise directly supports our mission of [mention your mission, e.g., fungal conservation, public education, and scientific research]. Our events have limited capacity, and we plan based on registrations, which is why we have the following policies in place.

A. POLICY FOR EVENT TICKETS (Walks, Talks, Workshops)

1. General Policy on Cancellations & Refunds
Due to the nature of our events and our non-profit status, we generally do not offer refunds for cancelled tickets. This policy allows us to keep our ticket prices accessible and ensures we can properly plan and resource our events.

2. Options If You Cannot Attend
We understand that plans change. If you are unable to attend an event you have registered for, we offer the following solutions:

  • Transfer Your Ticket: You may transfer your ticket to another person at any time up to the start of the event. Please email us at orders@centraltexasmycology.org with the attendee's full name and email address so we can update our records.

  • Convert to a Donation: If you cannot attend and are unable to transfer your ticket, you may convert your ticket into a tax-deductible donation to [Organization Name]. We will gratefully provide you with a donation receipt for the ticket value.

  • Waitlist & Resale (Subject to Availability): For sold-out events, we are happy to try to facilitate a resale by connecting you with the next person on our waitlist. While we cannot guarantee a resale, we will make our best effort. If successful, we will process a refund for your ticket, minus a small administrative fee (e.g., $5). Our Facebook group is a great place to find someone to purchase.

3. Event Cancellations

In the rare event that we must cancel or postpone an event, you will be notified immediately and offered a choice of a full refund, a transfer to the new date, or a credit for a future event.

4. Weather Policy for Outdoor Walks
Mycology walks are weather-dependent! We embrace a light drizzle, but safety comes first. If we must cancel due to dangerous conditions, we will follow the procedure in Section 3.

B. POLICY FOR MERCHANDISE (Books, Apparel, Kits, etc.)

All Merchandise Sales Are Final.
To support our non-profit mission and keep our administrative costs low, we do not accept returns or offer refunds, exchanges, or credits on any merchandise.

  • Careful Inspection Encouraged: Please inspect your merchandise upon receipt. By completing your purchase, you acknowledge that the item(s) are in acceptable condition and are as described.

  • Defective or Damaged Items: We stand behind the quality of our goods. If you receive a merchandise item that is defective or damaged upon arrival, please contact us within [e.g., 7 days] of receiving your order at orders@centraltexasmycology.org with a photo of the issue. We will gladly work with you to arrange a replacement or store credit.

C. SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES FOR ALL PURCHASES

We are a compassionate organization. If you have a serious, unforeseen emergency (e.g., medical or family crisis) that prevents you from attending an event, please contact us directly at [email address]. We will review these situations on a case-by-case basis.

No-Shows for events are not eligible for a refund, credit, or transfer.

By purchasing a ticket or merchandise, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this complete Return & Cancellation Policy.

Thank you for your support! Your participation and purchases help fuel our mission to share the wonder of mycology with our community.
