We are thrilled to extend a warm invitation to you for the PEAS Earth Day Farm Fest Fundraiser, scheduled. Join us in celebrating Mother Earth and the joyful connections we cultivate through Outdoor Learning and Edible Education during this wonderful springtime gathering.

Stop by our table and learn how to recycle mushroom grow blocks to build healthy soil, increase water retention, feed the soil web, your plants and eventually you! Using low-tech ways to recycle mushroom grow blocks are a great way to feed beneficial organic matter back into the soil and also grow delicious Vitamin D filled culinary mushrooms! These basic techniques require no special equipment or electricity, and can all be done outdoors using organic materials found on most farms and gardens.

What to Bring:

Cordless power drill and step drill bit (if you have one)

Bring your own container such as a 2-5 gallon containers: planter pot, bucket, laundry basket, milk crate, or crate for vegetables, wire mesh container like a bird house, strawberry pot. Don't buy anything new. Let's recycle. Any container with holes in it will work including a cardboard box. If your container doesn’t have holes in the side, use a power drive with a 1“ step drill bit and drill holes in a diamond pattern 4” apart on the sides of the bucket. DO NOT drill holes on the bottom. If there are already holes on the bottom, line it with cardboard.
