This workshop will give you the practical knowledge to learn how to grow mushrooms using recycled mycelium blocks lovingly donated by local mushroom farms. Not only will you be learning to grow mushrooms, build healthy soil, sequester carbon, feed the soil web, your plants and eventually you! You will also be helping divert organic matter from the waste stream! Mother earth will love you.

BYOB (BRING YOUR OWN BUCKET) We will provide spawn and substrate.

  • Examples: 5-gallon bucket with 1-in holes drilled in it, planter pot, laundry basket, crate for vegetables or milk crate. Any container with holes in it will work.

  • Bring a mug because we will have warm Reishi, hibiscus, ginger tea.

ABOUT THE VENUE

The Long Time is far east Austin’s most unique event space. Just 12 miles from Austin and nestled on a country road among small family farms and ranchitos, the The Long Time is a 5 acre playground for your imagination.

The Long Time facility’s stand-out feature is its custom sandlot baseball field – the home field of The Texas Playboys Baseball Club. The Playboys host opposing teams from near and far on the second Saturday of the month, March through October, in what we call “Sandlot Service” – a family-friendly community event with baseball, music, and plenty of good vibes.
