Y’all! The weather is NOT in our favor for an adventure down the river. We are postponing this trip until nice weather is in the forecast. Enjoy the cold front!

Join us for an adventure down a portion of the San Marcos River! The river begins near downtown San Marcos in Spring Lake, then meanders downstream until it meets with the Guadalupe River and there is a lot of beauty in ever stretch along the way. We are blessed to have a river filled with an array of wildlife from stacks of turtles to gorgeous birds, plants, a variety of fungi and so much more! There are many unique features that make this river special. As we ride down the river we will chat about different plants that stabilize the banks, the turtles that we may see by the dozens, and keep our eyes out for any mushrooms growing on logs immersed in the crystal clear waters.

We will be exploring a small section of the river that will begin at Gonzo’s to a city park in Martindale. The trip will be approximately three to four hours with time to shuttle cars. It is a chill ride, there are no wild rapids but we will need to portage over one damn. This is a good section for beginner paddlers to folks with more experience. If you are interested in co-leading a trip in the future, come on out to this one so we can get more on the calendar!

For this first foray on the river, you must bring your own boat, paddle, and life vest. You must have a life vest on the boat with you! In the future, we will do our best to offer boats to folks who do not have one. Please bring snacks, water, dry bag/s, and comfortable clothes that are appropriate for the weather. Please wear shoes that strap to your feet. We will be parking at Gonzo’s and you will have the option to shuttle to our get our point in Martindale. All ticket holders will receive an email with more information.
