Join Central Texas Mycological Society for a short ecology walk and brewery tour at Beerburg Brewing in the heart of the hill country. You will learn how fungi is entangled in all aspects of our lives and especially in our wild-crafted beers. For example, did you know the flavor of mint comes from a type of fungi that protects it from insects and other parasitic fungi!?

This event is also great for people that want to sharpen their plant and mushroom ID skills and learn about the beer and medicinal benefits of plants and fungi. Recycled mushroom grow blocks for everyone that attends.

Tickets are limited and are $10 for Members and $20 for non-member. Sign-up for a membership to get discounts on workshops, walks, and mycology related events. Price does not include brunch or alcohol. Family friendly. Kids under 12 are free and must be accompanied by an adult.

ABOUT YOUR GUIDES

Natalie Duran is a business owner, a ranch hand, and a mycophile. Since discovering the funky world of fungi as a teen, in the desert no less, she has been thoroughly inoculated with curiosity. Her curiosity really blossomed when she began working on the land and started to identify the Texas Hill Country’s flora with a “gotta catch em all” passion.

Angel Schatz radiates passion for understanding the ecosystem of central Texas and making gardening with mushrooms accessible to anyone who shares interest. Not only is she part of the leadership team of the Central Texas Mycological Society, but Austin Organic Gardeners as well; harmonizing vegetable gardening and mushroom growing, particularly by using recycled mushroom blocks.
