ABOUT THE ARTIST

I am Chloe Parsons—a self-taught watercolor and floral collage artist based in San Antonio, Texas. I was inspired to start painting in 2020 when spending time outside in nature soothed my isolation and my children’s paint set allowed me to put my ineffable awareness of infinite connection into living color.

I describe my art as “eco-sensual” because my inspiration and my body of work focuses on the sensuality of nature and ecological intimacies. I am fascinated with what is happening in the unseen places, both the underground and the subconscious. Much of my current work features stark dualities, and I enjoy the way it provides a blade of contrast to cut into nuanced topics and help us understand more about vast interrelationships and complex connections; dualities not as either/or, but yes/and.
