Join us this month as we connect to mushrooms in a new multi-sensory way, through music! Joe Patitucci the co-creator of PlantWave, a tool and app for musicians and nature lovers to translate real-time data from living things into music.

Joe will be joining us in person at the Hi-Fi Myco mushroom farm in North Austin for a live demonstration of real-time music composition using the culinary mushrooms. He will share his inspiration that grew out of a zero-waste record label called Data Garden. Evolving into an art installation with plants at Philadelphia Museum of Art and then eventually to the second iteration of PlantWave that was successfully funded through Kickstarter.

We invite you to bring your own mushrooms and plants and join us in this sonic adventure.

ABOUT THE GUEST SPEAKER

Joe Patitucci is an artist fostering connection to intuitive states and the natural world through sound, breath and technology. As CEO of Data Garden, he is working to build a future where humans will have a real-time soundtrack to their lives generated from wearable data that is responsive to mood, tailored to taste and optimized for any activity.
