Grab your bike and join us for an unforgettable adventure through Central Austin! We’re hunting down gorgeous heritage oaks, some funky and odd trees, and the ultimate prize, Chicken-of-the-Woods mushrooms (Laetiporus)! Whether you’re a seasoned forager or just starting out, this is all about sharpening your ID skills and learning in a fun, hands-on way. No expertise or membership required—just good vibes and an open mind! 🙌
More eyes = more mushrooms, so let’s see what hidden treasures we can find together!
🔒 Important stuff:
Liability waivers must be signed (we gotta keep it official).
Helmets are highly recommended and lights are required for after-dark riding.
6 miles one way, but don’t worry, it’s a chill, laid-back ride.
We'll hit up bike lanes and the hike-and-bike trail through the heart of urban Austin.
🚴 No bike?
No worries! There are bike shares and docking stations at the starting point. Just show up and roll out!
🍹 After-party at Cosmic Cafe
We’ll end our adventure with some much-needed food and bevs at Cosmic Cafe at Saltillo Plaza! If you plan to stay, don’t forget a light for the ride home in the dark.
