As autumn arrives, join us for an exploration of the fluid, sacred boundaries between life, death, and the earth. We'll look at how shallow, vault-free natural burial returns our biological moisture directly to the topsoil, where the vadose zone and subterranean mycelial networks carry our waters through the prairie ecosystem. Drawing on ancient aquatic folkways, river processions, and Norse ship burials, we'll discuss moving beyond commercial funeral products toward a living "biopresence"—honoring death as a fluid return to the landscape.
