To Whom it May Concern,

My name is ______ and I am writing the Culture, Recreation & Tourism Committee about the hearing that will take place on April 12, 2021, HCR 61 Leman - Designating the Texas Star Mushroom as the official State Mushroom of Texas.

I am a member of the Central Texas Mycological Society, and find this mushroom fascinating to the ecology of Texas because of its rarity and beauty. Texas deserves a state mushroom!

MORE ABOUT THE MUSHROOM

Texas Star Mushroom, Chorioactis geaster is unique to Texas and is only found in one other geographic location, which is Japan. Scientists are perplexed as to why it is so geographically distributed. In fact, you may recognize the mushroom because it is part of our logo.
