Central Texas fungi are severely understudied, and your help is needed! Join us for an online class with Walker Moore of the Longhorn Mycological Society to learn the proper techniques for documenting, collecting, and preserving mushrooms for scientific research.

This talk will cover the basics of mycology, highlight local species of interest, and provide a step-by-step guide to collecting specimens for fungarium storage and DNA barcoding. Discover how you can become a community scientist and help us understand the incredible fungal diversity right in our own backyards.

Register & attend LIVE for a chance to win a Mushroom Field Guide from UT Press!

About the Guest Speaker

My name is Walker Moore, and I am a sophomore undergraduate at UT Austin. I developed a fascination with fungi in high school and have only plunged deeper down the mycological rabbit hole since. I currently have the privilege to study the fungi of UT's field station network.
