Shroomtown Fungi is a member-managed specialty mushroom grower’s collective, expanding the mycelial network in Houston, TX and beyond. They cultivate a rotating, seasonal selection of culinary and medicinal mushrooms for sale to the general public.
About the founder Erin:
Erin began growing culinary mushrooms several years ago as a way to provide food and medicine for herself and friends; however, her hobby quickly “mushroomed” into a small business after she suddenly had more product than she could handle. After selling her mushrooms at Houston farmer’s markets throughout 2019, she paused production post-COVID to reevaluate the company’s long-term goals and impact. She is currently reorganizing Shroomtown Fungi into a member owned, democratically managed grower’s collective, which aims to resume mushroom production in early 2021.
